Promoting Environmental Stewardship: Mukti Organizes Awareness Meeting under SunG Project

Mukti organized an awareness meeting on mangrove plantation at the Mukti library premises in Mukti Gram Purba Sridharpur village, on May 15th, 2023. This initiative was conducted under the Sundarbans Greens (SunG) project, which receives support from the Small Industrial Bank of India (SIDBI). The meeting was facilitated by the dedicated village-level committee (VLC) members of Mukti and saw the participation of 50 villagers associated with the SunG project.

The primary focus of the meeting was to shed light on the numerous benefits of mangrove plantations, address the challenges faced in this endeavor, and explore effective solutions. Through discussions and interactive sessions, participants engaged in conversations about the significance of mangroves, the existing problems encountered during the plantation efforts, and strategies to overcome these obstacles. The meeting served as a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration, empowering the community to contribute actively to the preservation and growth of mangrove ecosystems.
