01. Why the project is?

•Higher education must evolve beyond traditional classroom instruction to equip learners with the practical skills needed to address real-world climate and sustainability challenges. There is a critical need to bridge academic excellence with grassroots climate action, providing a unique opportunity to validate theoretical knowledge within an authentic, real-world setup.

02. What the project is?

•It is a strategic academic collaboration between MUKTI and Calcutta University designed to integrate applied sustainability and climate resilience into higher education. The initiative offers a spectrum of experiential learning opportunities, including a 6-day field immersion program, advanced practicums in plant sciences, comprehensive joint diploma programs and international scientific conclaves.

03. What is the Objective?

•The primary objective is to shape the next generation of leaders, researchers and professionals by deeply rooting their academic pursuits in authentic ecological responsibility and real-world impact.
•The program aims to cultivate innovation, collaboration and collective action to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) while translating grassroots field data into replicable, systemic environmental policy recommendations.

04. Where the project is?

•The core experiential components are hosted in the climate-vulnerable Sundarbans, specifically at the MUKTI GRAM eco-village in Purba Sridharpur. This pristine delta region serves as an unparalleled “living laboratory” for applied environmental research. Additionally, hybrid diploma programs will utilize the academic infrastructure of affiliated institutions and/or colleges.
