Soumitra’s Tale of Support and Success

Soumitra Mistry, born to Joydeb and Sudharani Mistry in the village of Maitirgheri, Post – Kumrapara, Police Station Raidighi, District – South 24 Parganas, was raised in a family of four, comprising himself, his father, his mother, and his sister. His father, a farmer, and his mother, a homemaker, struggled with financial constraints. Their livelihood depended solely on his father’s earnings, which made it increasingly challenging to support Soumitra and his sister’s education as they progressed to higher levels.

Upon enrolling in a B. Tech course after high school, Soumitra faced the daunting prospect of financing his studies independently. Aware of their dire circumstances, he discovered Mukti as an organization dedicated to assisting underprivileged students like himself in pursuing education. Soumitra obtained an application form from the Mukti Raidighi office, completed it, and submitted it, albeit uncertain of the outcome.

After a period of anticipation, Mukti contacted Soumitra, requesting him for an interview at their city office. Nervously, he attended, grappling with the uncertainty of his selection. However, after approximately a month, Mukti informed him of his acceptance into their program. The news brought immense joy to Soumitra and his family.

Miss Ayesha Sultana Basu emerged as Soumitra’s benefactor, providing not only financial support but also emotional encouragement throughout his course until its completion in July 2023. Grateful beyond words, Soumitra extends his heartfelt appreciation to both Mukti and Sultana Ma’am for their steadfast assistance.

Currently employed as a Quality Control Trainee at EMMVEE Photovoltaic Power Private Limited in Bangalore, Soumitra remains indebted to Mukti and Sultana Ma’am. He expresses his desire to support Mukti’s noble cause once he establishes himself further in life. Reflecting on his educational journey, Soumitra acknowledges the pivotal role played by Raidighi Srifaltala Chandrakanta High School and Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology.

With a heart full of gratitude, Soumitra envisions a brighter future for Mukti, hoping it will continue to expand its reach and aid more students in need.
