01. Why the project is?

Urban slum children and adolescents face extreme challenges—overcrowding, poverty, exploitation, poor health, and lack of education. Girls and young women are especially vulnerable to violence and health risks due to inadequate hygiene and unsafe environments. Government services often go underutilized due to a lack of awareness. The CHILD project exists to break this cycle by creating inclusive, safe, and growth-oriented spaces for children and caregivers.

02. What the project is?

The Child Holistic Integrated Learning and Development (CHILD) project is a community-based intervention for children (aged 2–18), mothers, and caregivers in underprivileged urban areas. It delivers an age-specific learning curriculum, strengthens access to health and education services, builds community awareness, and links children with government programs. The project also provides safety nets, hygiene kits, and material support to promote holistic development and safeguard children’s rights.

The project follows a structured and integrated approach:

  • Curriculum Delivery: 120 hours of age-appropriate learning for sponsored children across four age groups.

  • System Collaboration: Works with local government bodies and community systems to ensure children’s access to essential services.

  • Risk Management: Identifies socio-environmental risks and builds strategies for child safeguarding.

  • Safety Nets: Allocates part of the budget to health and education support for the most vulnerable children.

  • Material Support: Distributes welcome and hygiene kits to all sponsored children.
Additionally, the Bob Doshi Finish Liner Project supports financially vulnerable scholars completing professional courses with need-based aid.
