We are pleased to organize the Sunderban Development Fair at Jatar Deul in Raidighi, South 24 Paraganas. The essence of the fair lies in the name and place where it will be held. The objective of the fair is holistic up-liftment of the inhabitants of Sunderban. Raidighi is located at the heart of the Sunderbans and Jatar Deul famous for its Shiva temple is historically significant to many. The history, tradition and diversity of the place makes the visitor spell bound and they always keep coming back to the place.

Sunderban is the home to Sundari, Garan, Hetal, Kertaki, etc. trees of the mangrove forest. The area is famous for its wild life such as the Royal Bengal Tiger, Crocodiles, Deer, etc. It houses large varieties of fishes. The jiggery made out of Dates in Sunderban and the Moya sweet of Joynagar is known to food lovers across the country. However, with such diversity and importance in flora and fauna Sunderban is yet to become a significant hub for development in West Bengal.

‘Mukti’ has taken the pledge to change this scenario in the Sunderban along with social workers, politicians and most importantly common people. Through the Sunderban Development Fair we are looking to enable this change. The fair would showcase the specialty of not only the Sunderban but South 24 Paraganas to the tourists, intellectuals and well-wishers across the globe. Through the intermingling of people in the fair it would result into transfer of vocational knowledge transfer, cultural mixes and business transfers.

The discussion topics that would be touched upon during the Sunderban Development Fair would be health, education, agriculture, rural employment, ecology, human rights and development politics thinking. The Sundarban would be soaked into thoughts and insights from renowned intellectuals and successful people from different fields as discussion participants.

The key features of the Sunderban Development Fair would be the followings:

Mukti strongly believes that the country can be protected and its citizens remain healthy by bringing awareness to the field of agriculture.
