Paritosh Paik
My name is Paritosh Paik, and I come from a small village named Hatpara under Joynagar Block in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. I was born into a humble family where hard work, honesty, and determination were the greatest values taught to me from childhood. I completed my schooling at Majilpur J.M. Training School. Coming from a financially weak background, pursuing higher education was never easy. However, I always dreamed of becoming a doctor and serving society through healthcare. With continuous hard work, dedication, and the blessings of my parents, elders, and teachers, I successfully cracked the NEET examination on my very first attempt. After qualifying NEET, I secured admission to Midnapore Medical College to pursue my MBBS degree. My father, Pankaj Paik, is a farmer, and my mother, Rina Paik, is a homemaker. Despite their limited income, they supported me in every possible way to help me continue my education. During my MBBS journey, financial difficulties became a major challenge. Managing academic expenses and daily needs was extremely difficult. To support my studies, I participated in several medical camps and actively looked for opportunities that could help me continue my education without burdening my family. During the first year of my MBBS course, I came to know about MUKTI through one of my seniors. I applied for their scholarship program and was fortunate to be selected for financial assistance. My sponsor, Srijan Realty Pvt. Ltd., along with MUKTI, supported me throughout my academic journey. Their guidance, encouragement, and financial help gave me the confidence to focus on my studies and move forward without losing hope. With determination and consistent effort, I successfully completed my MBBS degree and passed my final year examination with 66.6% marks. Currently, I am serving as an intern at Midnapore Medical College. My next goal is to pursue a postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS) by preparing for NEET-PG after completing my internship. I aspire to become an excellent doctor and dedicate my life to serving people, especially those from underprivileged communities like my own. Today, when I look back at my journey—from a small village to becoming a doctor—I feel proud and grateful. My success would not have been possible without the sacrifices of my parents, the support of MUKTI, and the generosity of my sponsor, Srijan Realty Pvt. Ltd. Their belief in me transformed my dream into reality. This journey has taught me that no obstacle is too big when one has determination, hard work, and the right support system.
