Akash Bhaumik
Hello, my name is Akash Bhaumik. I belong to the village of Dakshinharkuli, located in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. There are four members in my family, including myself: my mother, my father, my elder brother, and me. Professionally, my father is a private tutor, and my mother is a homemaker. My elder brother has been blind and mentally unstable since childhood. Because of this, my family is entirely dependent on my father's income. Amidst these circumstances, I completed both my 10th and 12th standards at Dakshin Moyna High School (HS), scoring 92.57 % and 96.8 % respectively. In 2022, I joined the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata, to pursue my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, with a specialization in Cyber Security, Internet of Things (IoT), and Blockchain Technology. Given our family's economic condition, managing the high college tuition fees along with the expenses for global certifications in fields like Cyber Security or Cloud Computing was becoming incredibly difficult for my father. It was during this time that I learned about the Mukti TSS (Talent Support Program) scholarship through the Buddy4Study portal. I applied for the program for the academic year 2024–2025, and fortunately, I was selected after the interview round. With the start of 2026, as I entered my 8th semester, I began receiving financial help from Mukti TSS. For this immense support, I am deeply grateful to Mukti and my sponsor, the Garden State Cultural Association (GSCA). Throughout my time with this program, I have participated in various social initiatives, both physically and virtually. These experiences inspired me deeply, prompting me to give back. I have been providing free tutoring and guidance to Class 10 students living around my neighborhood who are preparing for their Madhyamik (Secondary) board exams. In the future, once I am successful, I hope to use Mukti's platform to financially support other students in need. As of now, I have completed my B.Tech degree from the University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata. I am currently focusing on preparing for my global certifications. Once I successfully clear them, I plan to apply for jobs at multinational companies (MNCs).
