My name is Bhumika Hazra, and I am from Balarampur, Ghatal, Paschim Medinipur, which is beside the Rupnarayan river. My family has four members: my father, mother, younger brother, and me. My father is a farmer, my mother is a housewife, and my brother is in Class 8. I am pursuing a BTech in IT and currently in my 1st year at Narula Institute of Technology, Agarpara, Kolkata.
Since my father is a farmer, we often struggle financially due to farming losses. During the rainy season, our crops get damaged by floods and heavy rain. Every year, we face sudden floods in our area. The college semester fees are high, and on top of that, the expenses for food and study materials like notebooks and textbooks are hard for my father to manage all at once.
I understand how difficult it is for my father to support my education while also managing our household and my brother's schooling. If I receive this scholarship, it will help me pay for my study materials and food, which would be a big relief for my family. |
